We founded Blond Consulting for one specific reason, because so many of the “advisors” we had met whilst growing our own businesses from start-up had never actually done it! Never taken that “big step” with their own business, or more importantly, with their own money. Lots of knowledge and impressive career jobs, big names on business cards, but on-the-ground, real world, at the coal face, gut clenching personal risk experience, not so much.
But we have done it … big step after big step … for more than 8 hard years. Learnt the lessons, ridden the roller coaster up and down, and up and down, and …. Not just got the T-shirt so much as got the entire year’s wardrobe, for all four seasons and a holiday, and a wedding, and three “big” birthday parties.
And partnership was what we saw was missing. Not necessarily simple financial partnership or giving the right answers at the right time partnership. But that strong sense that these people were on our shoulder partnership, had our backs partnership, thinking about us and our business as if it were their own partnership, and taking pride in a job well done together partnership. Real Partners.
And why Blond? Simple answer is why not … but also that Adam is a blondie … and therefore perhaps a little dig at common perception and mis-perception!
